Here's some UK blood test providers I've been jotting down in my notes:
- Medichecks: I think Medichecks is the most popular provider, and they have hundreds of tests. They have at-home test kits (fingerprick, swabs, saliva, urine, stool), in-clinic blood draws, and hard-to-find things like STD and drug tests. I signed up for their referral program, so I get 10% if you use my link, and you get a 10% discount using the code MEDUK10.
- Blue Horizon Medicals: I think this is the second most popular provider, focused mostly on in-hospital blood draws. They initially confused me because they're split into four different sites and services. It looks like you'd want to filter them this way:
- If you're in London with convenient access to their 76 Wimpole Street location, visit bloodtestslondon.com to order online.
- If you're in their locations with a BMI hospital (Aberdeen, Bath, Beckenham, Birmingham, Blackburn, Blackheath, Bolton, Brentford, Canterbury, Cheadle, City Of London, Croydon, Dartford, Dorchester, Edgbaston, Enfield, Great Missenden, Harrow, Hendon, Huddersfield, Maidstone, Northwood, Nottingham, Orpington, Princes Risborough, Rochdale, Sheffield, Stepney Green, Stirling, Swindon, Windsor, Worcester), visit privatebloodtests.com. You'll order online and attend the BMI hospital location for the blood draw.
- If you're in their locations with a Spire hospital (Birmingham, Brentwood, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Chatham, Edinburgh, Harpenden, Horley, Hull, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Norwich, Portsmouth, Reading, Slough, Southampton, Southend On Sea, Tunbridge Wells, Warrington, Washington, Watford, Wirral, or Wrexham), visit privatebloodtests.co.uk. You'll order online and attend the Spire hospital location for the blood draw.
- In other locations, bluehorizonmedicals.co.uk can mail you an at-home testing kit, arrange a nurse to come draw the blood, or provide a kit for you to arrange your own phlebotomy service to draw the blood.
- Werlabs has two classes of testing:
- In-home nurses visit, available nationwide. The most comprehensive test is £145 and includes the following:
- Thyroid: TSH, free T3/T4
- Lipids/cholesterol: HDL, LDL, triglycerides
- HbA1c
- Iron status: iron, ferritin, transferrin, transferrin saturation
- Nutritional: magnesium, vitamin d, vitamin b12
- CRP
- And the general ones: haemoglobin, haematocrit, MCH, MCHC, MCV, PLT, RBC, WBC, albumin, ALT, ALP, bilirubin, GT, total protein, calcium, creatinine, eGFR, sodium, urea
- Visit-a-clinic testing in London and Manchester. The tests are similar to the above with a few additional packages available to get things like cortisol, testosterone, and PSA.
- Genova (I think these have to be ordered through a medical professional, but places like Thyroid UK have one that can order on your behalf without too much overhead)
- Purehealth Clinic: a medical nutritionist that can order tests on your behalf.
- Nuffield Health can provide a physician to order tests on your behalf for £25.
- Regenerus Labs has a variety of home test kits as well as regular blood tests done by a phlebotomist, and includes some harder-to-find options like DUTCH testing.
- True Health Labs: I believe these are all mail-in kits.
- Bloodtestsdirect.co.uk (site currently down)
- Thriva: fingerprick test kits shipped to you, so available in places like Ireland. The tests are limited to cholesterol, liver function, iron, vitamin D, vitamin B12, vitamin B9, and HbA1c.
- Health Screening Blue appears to have merged with Blue Horizon.

Please leave a comment if you see a way to improve this page or if you have any questions. Keep in mind that I know little about the medical side of bloodwork, I just enjoy making sites with lists of things.
